1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
Working in a creative partnership has helped me to improve my skills a lot. I have improved within organizing my time effectively in order to get my responsibilities done and not let my partner down. Also I have improved on my illustrator skills as it is not my favorite program but in order to complete the brief we each had a go at the things we weren’t best at. Also to stay calm and organized has really had an impact on the partnership as I have managed to keep Claire calm and to get the most out of the time without rushing to finish it before the deadline.
I have also developed the skills in sharing work and trusting my partner to have it done which Is much easier when working with a friend.

2. What approaches to generating work and solutions to problems have you developed and how have they helped?
We began with making a questionnaire to understand what men really thought about tissues, we made it creative and eye catching as well to actually grab males attention to fill it in. This wasn’t very successful as all we got were got were vague answers. We did lots of thorough research to find away to engage with males, which helped us enormously. Our final piece was always going to be difficult to make, as it was an unusual idea, so in order to get it right several mockups had to be made and analyzed to proceed in getting it right. The crits I felt were very helpful, as we don’t think like men and having feedback on our idea from them was very important and fed our idea generation.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalize on these?
I think the illustrator work was a main strength for me as I am not familiar with the program and don’t usually create work like this so seeing what I can produce in illustrator has really impressed me. Our idea for the tissue box mechanism is also one of our strengths and will encourage men to buy tissues because of the gadget. Also the play on words with ‘chiefs’ and ‘misschiefs’ is a main strength in our outcome as it eliminates the feminine word tissue but still communicates what the product is.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how could you exploit these more fully?
One of our weaknesses was how long it took us to create the illustrator characters it took up most of our time as they had to be done before we could move on further with our advertisement and making of the product. Also we should of spent more time on designing the adverts and pocket packs as they were left till last again down to the character development as I think we could of produced something more successful for these.

5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?
1. I will make sure I don’t leave anything till the last minute this will make sure the designs are more successful and don’t look rushed.
2. Continually ask other people’s opinions on my work especially because we were working with the opposite sex it would definitely have an impact on our decisions.
3. Always try and test things before making the artwork, if we had worked out the mechanism for our box first we wouldn’t of wasted as much time on the characters.
4. Draw up designs first before creating the artwork.
5. Make more timetables and plans to spread work out evenly when working within a partnership.
